Course overview
These modules are for health and social care practitioners who wish to develop a portfolio of evidence based on their prior and current learning experiences.
The University of Greenwich is committed to awarding credit to students for prior and current learning which has occurred during education activities or through experience at work or elsewhere. These modules acknowledge the value of work-based learning, as well as education and training activities, which are not formally assessed but inform current practice.
This module will only be available in Term 2 January 2026 and is predominantly e learning, which means there are online activities for you to complete weekly. You can do them anytime within the week and the module leader will send your feedback at the end of the week. This means you have flexibility to work when and where you want within each week. There is lots of guidance to help you in the form of online resources and initial, mid point & final group TEAMs sessions for discussion with the module leader, plus the option of an individual TEAM meeting & draft feedback when writing your final assessment piece.
Learning Outcomes
- You will be given the opportunity to reflect on your practice and gain credit for the above. You will find developing your portfolio will give you an insight into yourself and your practice. Our participants report that this is a truly developmental experience.
- You will be able to prepare a claim for prior and current learning through the process of reflection on experience and by compiling a portfolio of evidence with the support and supervision of experienced tutorial staff. You are advised to contact the module co-ordinator or your course leader before registering for this module.
